President Gotabaya Rajapaksa yesterday requested the people to vote for a strong Parliament as well as the peoples’ support to accomplish all the pledges made in his presidential election manifesto.

During a public gathering at Nikaweratiya, Kurunegala, the President assured that each and every pledge made in his National Policy Framework “Vistas of Prosperity and Splendour” will be implemented in the coming years.   The Nikaweratiya gathering was organised by Minister Johnston Fernando and the Maha Sanga present at the gathering commended the President’s administration and also invoked blessings on him, the President’s Media Division said.  Meanwhile, Pre-school teachers have appreciated the President’s decision to bring the pre-school system under the purview of a ministry and stated that it would be a great step in early childhood development in Sri Lanka.
