What is this double standard by US embassy? If the has denounced the citizenship let them say it, if not there something they are working with Gota.

Embassy said it would take several months for an individual’s name to appear in the Federal Register after he or she had renounced citizenship. That means GR not eligible to participate for Presidential Electron, Because he is still U.S. Citizen.

Applying does not mean renunciation is completed.It is the fault of the president and the PM without verifying for allowing a person to contest such an important office in SL. Both must be sent home for the prosperity of SL.This is like cheating the masses

In the absence of concrete evidence and no comment from the US Consulate that at least Gota has applied for renunciation of his US citizenship, he would still remain as a US citizen. Therefore he should not be allowed to seek election as the matter is still uncertain.

Even if it need sometimes several months to appear in the register, Gota must have the release document from the US State Department, This document the State Department will provide immediately after his Renunciation has been accepted. The US will under no circumstances release Gota from the US citizenship this year.

Due to Gota' citizenship problem, SL Government should immediately close down the American Embassy, as they have no power to tell the truth. SL does not need such embassies.
