The national vaccination program will open up in Jaffna from tomorrow, as the Jaffna district has been one of the worst affected districts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The government's special resettlement facilitation officer for the North and East, Geethanath Kassilingam said that 12 vaccination centers will be allocated from Sunday and those above the age of 30 years will be eligible to receive their jabs.
"It will begin from areas which have been identified as 'high risk' and the centers will rotate during the weeks," Kassilingam said.
Some of the centers' are allocated in areas such as Kopay, Chavakachcheri and Jaffna Municipal Council limits.
Kassilingam requested people in Jaffna, to receive their jabs soon.

These vaccine doses are like a rubber band. It keep starching. Who is fooling whom. There is absolutely no plan to vaccinate the population. Most importantly there is no budget for importing the vaccine. Just a haphazard operation and no professionalism.
