The President’s Office has suspended the purchase of new vehicles for ministries and institutes under ministries, government sources said.
This measure has been taken on the directives of President, Gotabaya Rajapaksa in order to limit government expenses. If there was any shortage of vehicles for any ministry, additional vehicles under the President’s Office would be provided, reports said.
The President had earlier requested ministries and institutes under ministries to curtail all non-essential expenses including expenses allocated for ministerial vehicles, transportation activities and building facilities. (Ajantha Kumara Agalakada)

All is good Mr president but we won't judge your success simply on cost cutting exercises. We want GDP growth rate to exceed 6%, local industries to thrive, rural economy to boom and a peaceful nation.
