The Education Ministry has requested an immediate report over the alleged issuance of 427 illegal letters to admit students for schools violating the election laws and the Constitution.
The order had been issued by Education Minister Dullas Alahapperuma considering the period October 7 to November 26.
The Ministry said information in this regard was received by the Ministry.
“It was revealed that certain letters had been issued with forged signatures of Education Ministry secretaries,” an official said.
“Therefore, the Minister has requested an immediate report by the Ministry special investigation officers within three weeks,” the official said. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)
