Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) had received a complaint against Colombo Mayor Rosy Senanayake alleging that a building belonging to the CMC valued over Rs. 100 million had been sold at a price of Rs. 30 million.
Colombo MC Councilor Shermila Gonawela had lodged this complaint with the CIABOC.
When inquired, Shermila Gonawela said that the Bribery Commission had questioned Rosy Senanayake for four hours over the complaint.
“The land situated at Devanampiyatissa Mawatha in Colombo was owned by the CMC for about 20 years and was sold to its previous owner for Rs. 30 million,” Gonawala said. (Dayaseeli Liyanage)
