All arriving passengers into Sri Lanka will be subject to a compulsory 14-day quarantine period as per the instructions of the health authorities, Aviation and Investment Zone Development State Minister D.V. Chanaka said.
He said the passengers would have to come with a negative PCR test and added they would also be subject to another PCR test upon arrival at the BIA and the Mattala Airport.
“Then they will be directed for 14-day quarantine. We will also be conducting another PCR test in about 10 days. If that PCR test confirms to be negative only, we will release them to the society,” the he said.
The State Minister also said only 75 passengers were allowed to disembark per flight.
The Civil Aviation Authority yesterday announced that the passengers are permitted to arrive at Sri Lanka's International Airports from today. (Sheain Fernandopulle)

The emerging variants were unknown entities when vaccines were produced. So better to be cautious with quarantine for all, irrespective of vaccination status, until more information is available.
