Categorically denying the allegations that she received two salaries Bribery Commission Director General Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe yesterday requested the Commission’s Chairman to conduct a full-scale probe into her actions.

Speaking to Daily Mirror at 9.30pm today from her office at the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption, the DG said that she was innocent and was ready to prove her innocence at any forum.

Ms. Wickramasinghe said that the baseless and frivolous allegations were made to demoralise her and prevent her from fighting corruption.

She had requested the Chairman of the Commission, Justice Jagath Balapatabendi, to conduct a full scale probe and stated her willingness to support it in any form.

A group of SLFP Parliamentarians, led by MP Manusha Nanayakkara, had lodged a complaint against the incumbent DG claiming that she had received two salaries in 2002, whilst working at the Attorney General’s Department and also as a Consultant to the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka. Bala Friday, 03 April 2015 08:02 AM

Take it up as priority and show these jokers your clen hands and go for very high damages suit.

    Giabao Friday, 03 April 2015 08:20 AM

does this suggests that most of other complains made by these politikkas are also baseless ? I think they need to abandon this commission as it has become a joke and start a new ministry or something which screen all complains for their authenticity and bring laws to maintain confidentiality of all complains until proven guilty. Otherwise it is only a media show like a "mega teledrama" . every day something new and never ending,

    ferdi Friday, 03 April 2015 08:30 AM

Of all the people I know this lady is one honest, straight, non boot licking SriLankan, go for the juguler Madam and get the perpertrators to pay. I dont think they know lodging a false claim on bribery is an offence.

    Cyril n Friday, 03 April 2015 08:53 AM

This should be investigated and findings made public. However, we also know the tract record of the complainant,Mabusha Nanayakara, how he contested under UNP, broke 108 coconuts in temple to assure he will not leave UNP but crossed over within a few months - guess for what benefits?

    Premalal Friday, 03 April 2015 09:12 AM

You got them terrified so they are doing everything to distract you. I think that you are smart enough to not to fall into their trap. These jokers are accusing you of taking two salaries for two jobs when they have robbed lot more for not doing a single job.

    Eds Friday, 03 April 2015 09:17 AM

Are they investigating themselves now ? What a joke

    CITIZEN Saturday, 04 April 2015 03:32 PM

They like to fabricate stories and demoralise the DG so that she would devote more time in defending herself thereby having no time to open the "can of worms" which they fear! Draw some Dutch courage and do your duty, regardless of what they say of you. This would have been expected.

    Veda-mama Friday, 03 April 2015 03:57 AM

IF THE COMPLAINT PROVED BASELESS, THEY MAY HAVE TO CONTRIBUTE IN ADDITION TO THE BRIBES THEY THEMSELVES HAVE RECEIVED TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGES.

    Chamini Friday, 03 April 2015 03:58 AM

This is the fate of all honest, capable and educated Sri Lankans when they try to do something good for the country. Baseless allegations make them to spend valuable time to counter these attacks and demoralize, which is exactly what they expect. Keep up the good work DG!

    Pissa Friday, 03 April 2015 05:08 AM

Sorry madam, you have to be in the waiting list as Bandula.

    Handipora Friday, 03 April 2015 07:48 AM

These MPs have nothing else to do to gain some public significance by merely slinging mud at hard working public servants. May be carrying out a contract of some Maharajas for which Manusha is famous for.
