We have to think as "Sri Lankans" and not as sinhalese, tamil or muslims or as buddhists, hindus, islamists or catholics. The mind set change is absolutely essential.

There is nothing racist about trying to understand the results. Sinhalese without any racism voted according to their personal preference. That is why we could see either MR or MY3 winning with narrow margins in Sinhalese majority areas. That is a fair democratic election process. But when you see the previous EELAM areas where over 90% are Tamils, and MY3 getting massive percentages like over 80% votes, which clearly shows that the EELAM areas are still living in their separatist dreams. What has MR done for them except bringing them a peaceful environment to live in peace? On the other hand what has MY3 done for them to get an over 80% votes. Any sensible person can understand that there is no real democracy behind this type of bias voting. This type of voting by an ethnic group is for nothing other than to topple the leadership. This clearly shows that while the Sinhalese in the south forgets the pending National separatist threat and moves forward, people in the north and east still trying to take advantage out of it to fulfill their aspirations of EELAM. This type of voting only creates more ethnic division than unity. The real unity can be achieved only when all ethnic groups unite together to live under one nation and vote to resolve real political and economic issues faced by the nation. Sorry if I offend anyone, but this is purely my personal point of view for this discussion.

I agree with you Nalin. That is the very reason why angarika Dharmapala left the country and told not to bring even his ashes to Sri Lanka. Rev.S Mahinda of Tibet wrote ' Olu gedi walata hena gahalada sihalunge "

what do you expect demo crazy? if MR govt. patronage natiolistic elements like BBS against the minorities why should they still stick to MR. If MR govt. has acted democratically and avoided feeding nationalistic feelings they would defeitely have supported MR. What goes around comes around, and this applies for everybody, even for the minorities.
