More than a thousand citizens lived with shrapnel embedded in their body due to the bomb blasts which took place in Vavuniya and Jaffna during the war, the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) said.

Statistics revealed that 113 were students, TNA MP Shiva Shakthi Anandan said.

He urged the government to provide the victims with adequate medical facilities to remove the explosives from their body. (Romesh Madushanka)

The bombing was indiscriminate and haphazard. This is also the reason for high civilian deaths. One can fight a war by pin pointing and attacking exact enemy location like the way USA is doing in Syria and Afghanistan or carpet bomb the whole place and claim victory like how SL did.

a friend of mine who is a secretary there carries a sharpenel in his head. he cannot get it removed and has to live with it. prabakaran tried to kill him, thank god he survived.
