Veteran Journalist Elmo Fernando passes away

Veteran Journalist Elmo Fernando passed away at the age of 75 at his residence, early this morning.

He joined then Radio Ceylon in 1967 and was a popular announcer, a news caster and a programme producer as well as a news reporter.

Later he joined with the BBC Sinhala service and worked there for more than twenty years as a Colombo correspondent.

Remains lie at No 314, Aruppitiya, Pelawatta, Battaramulla. Funeral will be held at 4pm, today (11th) at the Roman Catholic Church cemetery, Pelawatta.
