Several villages had experienced power failures during the heavy thundershowers and storms which lashed the country, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) said.
CEB Chairman Anura Wijepala said the CEB was in the process of restoring the power supply to the affected areas.
“We have not received any reports of large scale power failures during the past few hours,” he added. (Kalathma Jayawardhane)
