Ceylon Electricity Board Chairman Anura Wijepala has decided to resign from his post, claiming that he will take responsibility for the three blackouts that occurred in the country during the last six months.

“There was nobody to take responsibility for the three blackouts during the last six months.

So I have decided to take responsibility and will send in my resignation letter soon after power is restored today,” Mr. Wijepala told the Daily Mirror.

3 blackouts in six months Disgraceful If reports are clear this transformer fault happened before too resulting back out in 1990s I think the reliability of the electricity system as now is unacceptable Lossing transformer or transmission line should not create national backlit? Why not eleminate dendancy of these critical elements from the network? Looks like current CEB management/political leadership take the responsibility and try to solve the problem rather than blame shifting If that require new managemt so be it

Renewable Energy Street Lighting SolutionI am forwarding this comment to you concerning introducing renewable energy efficient street lighting to our region. I have researched and discussed with several foreign and local experts on this matter and after a thorough study, I came to the conclusion to introduce the Canadian company Solar Global Solution’s advanced technology to our country.Their solutions are superior in performance and safety as well as their support service and warranty terms are better than others in the market. They have implemented their solutions in many countries worldwide. When we invest in high quality solutions used by developed countries, we too can benefit in progressing our region and country towards a sustainable future.I hope you all make discuss about this solution for our country. Yes it is useful . No more power cut No more Electricity problems .
