Strange instructions (at least now) but highly commendable. PLs continue..

I really felt sorry and stunned to see the helpless victims. No one has the right to act beyond the law. Full punishment should be given to the culprits. No one is beyond the human weakness. Including those who assaulted the innocent victims.

Where in the constitution the authority is given to any minister to interfere with the Police? How can a Minister give an order to the Police? Doesn't this border State Terrorism?

Sad state of affairs in the country. Nobody can take the law into their own hands. They have no right to assault any person but to inform the proper authorities if a wrong is being done. Where is the procedure for a Minister to give instructions to the Police to carry out their lawful duties?

Police are unable to act in any situation without instructions from a politician. Sri Lanka Police Service is a gelded institution, operating in name only, has lost all it's independence and is a private security force to protect whoever is in power.
