Colombo, April 09 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet has granted approval for local students to gain admission to the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University's medical degree programme.
Under the endorsed proposal, which received the nod from the Cabinet, aspiring medical students from Sri Lanka will have the opportunity to commence their studies at the renowned institution from the upcoming academic year.
The admission process will be primarily based on the applicants' 'Z score' obtained from the GCE Advanced Level Examination, alongside other pertinent qualifications. However, it's worth noting that admission will be facilitated on a fee-paying basis.

Do whatever it takes. It is ok to charge fees. Lankans students are willing to millions of rupees for cheap east european or chinese degrees. These are not worth anything in the real world. Control activism, ragging and other forms of indicipline that can be a threat to the integrity of this school.

The KDU is funded by the taxpayers of Sri Lanka . If the KDU is going to enroll Sri Lankan students, it must be based on the Z-score and be tuition-free. But it seems that the government is going to use the KDU as a ploy for its PMC agenda. Despite his rhetoric, only thing Ranil knows is privatization and more privatization.
