The government today announced that the next general elections would be held under a new electoral system- a mix of the First Past the Post System and the Proportional Representation - replacing the current preferential vote based electoral system.

Nice move to rule longer than promised with a Parliament dissolved in April and fresh elections in June.Promises are broken by the cart load. No the new laws will take over an year and no elections and the UNP now in power will rule for more time. What mendacity?
