A complaint was lodged with the Weeraketiya police station by the policeman who was involved in an argument with a senior SJB MP’s son at the Bendigama Interchange on the Southern Expressway.
A video footage is circulating on social media showing a motorist, alleged to be the son of SJB Parliamentarian Dilip Wedaarachchi, shouting at the policeman at the Bendigama Interchange because the policeman did not let him have his way.
The incident was reported yesterday, the police said. The policeman on duty at the interchange stopped the vehicle before it entered the expressway due to a refrigerator being carelessly loaded on the vehicle.
As per the video footage, the policeman had advised the driver not to enter the expressway as it was not safe to travel along with the loaded refrigerator, but the man in the driver's seat and a female passenger on board started scolding the policeman using obscene language.
Later, the motorist got himself out of the scene by reversing his vehicle swiftly without exposing his identity.
The policeman had lodged a complaint on this in incident with the Weeraketiya police station. (Chaturanga Samarawickrama)

The term of elected representatives should be reduced to three years so that people can vote without forgetting what happened

Politicians are elected by the people, so they are the reflection of the society.
Where SL would have been? Thursday, 02 June 2022 03:09 PM
SL as a nation is totally rotten. It's not just the politicians; not a particular ethnicity; religious belief; lingistic group; educated or not, It's all encompassing. Citizens can get rid of a set of politicians but the new one will not be no better. The cycle will keep repeating through successive generations. Bet you, whoever rules inevitable changes are to be expected, deteriorating changes. So in a another millanium only change that will be achived will be a situation worse than the past. I keep wondering where SL would have been today had European not invaded and occupied for nearly 500 years !!!!

This is not Dilip Wedaarachchi. Even it is Dilip 'a wrong is a wrong'. What do they think 'Police have to worship them. Big Dilip tell your son he has to abide by road safety rules. He hasn't got extra special rules to have his way. Looks like the son has lost his head and place in society. I am sure he can't have his father's badge. No wonder we can't get to First World from 'Third World'.
