St Joseph’s College resuming from their overnight score of 226 for 4 went on to pile up a mammoth score of 443 runs on day two against Royal College in the Under 19 Division One final at the P. Sara Stadium in Colombo yesterday.
The Joes total came on the back of a knock of 123 made by Senuja Wakunegoda and half tons by Chethina Kavindu, Dilpa Maduranga and Nushan Perera which included two partnerships that of 50 runs for the fifth wicket between Senuja and Chethina who also associated in a another 110 runs for the sixth wicket with Nushan Perera (54).
Rain put am early stoppage and Royal in their turn facing 26 overs ended the day on 84 for 1 and they need another 359 runs to overtake the Josephian score when play gets underway on the final day today.
