Trump booed at NBA Finals

Despite becoming the first sitting U.S. head of state to attend an NBA Finals game, President Donald Trump was met with loud jeers during the national anthem before the tipoff of Game 3 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden in New York between New York Knicks and San Anthonio Spurs.

New York, a predominantly Democratic state, visibly expressed its discontent with the Republican president when he was shown on the jumbotron during the national anthem. International reports indicate that enhanced security measures, restricted arena access, and an increased police presence led to frustration among fans, as many were unable to participate in pre-game gatherings and were denied the opportunity to hold one of their famous Knicks watch parties in the vicinity of the stadium. Additionally, traffic restrictions and road closures reportedly resulted in long delays and extended waiting times for attendees, affecting the overall pre-game atmosphere and fan experience.
