Super League and Novices volleyball finals today

The finals of the 2025 Manchee Super League and Novices Volleyball Championships organised by the Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB), will be held today from 8.00 am at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

This marks the first national-level volleyball finals tournament of 2026.

The Novices boys’ final will begin at 8.30 am with Ruwanwella Rajasinghe Sports Club taking on Chilaw Fahim Gema Sports Club. 

The Novices girls’ final between Maho Vijayaba Sports Club and Kirindiwela Sangamiththa Girls’ Sports Club is scheduled for 10.30 am. 

In the Super League category, the women’s final at 1.00 pm will have Air Force Sports Club face Hydramani Sports Club and the men’s final at 3.00 pm will feature Ports Authority Sports Club against Army Sports Club.

In the men’s semi-finals, Ports Authority edged past Ceylon Electricity Board 3–2 (25–21, 21–25, 26–24, 18–25, 15–12), while Army SC defeated Air Force SC 3–2 (25–27, 21–25, 25–16, 27–25, 15–13) in another five-set thriller.

The women’s semi-finals produced clearer results Air Force beating Navy 3–0 (25–17, 25–14, 25–18), and Hirdaramani Sports Club overcoming Army 3–1 (25–23, 21–25, 25–11, 25–18).

Tournament sponsor Ceylon Biscuits Limited has announced cash prizes of Rs.150,000 each for the men’s and women’s champions, Rs. 100,000 for the runners-up and Rs. 50,000 for the third-placed teams.
