St. Sylvester’s and Vidyartha evenly matched at Battle of the Babes

The 66th Battle of the Babes encounter between St Sylvester’s College and Vidyartha College will be played on April 2 and 3 at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium.

Both schools having done well in their divisions will be expecting promotions in the forthcoming season. The Sylvestrians are led by Chandupa Waduge while Vidyartha will have Shevan Moses leading their outfit and expecting to end 58 years of not being able to win the encounter.

St. Sylvester’s College then led by Akila Wickramasinghe claimed their 16th victory in 2024 and retained the Rev. Fr. Dom George Memorial Trophy. 

The longest winless streak in traditional match history is currently held by Vidyartha College dating back 58 years since 1967 without a victory. 

The last time Vidyartha College won the encounter was in 1967 under the captaincy of R.M. Lafir.

St. Sylvester’s College lead the tally with 16 wins against Vidyartha College who have just three wins at present.
