St. Benedict’s College clinched the overall championship with an impressive total of 503 points to be crowned Champions at the BENS Aquatic Inter-School Short Course Swimming Championship held at the Aquatic Sports Centre of the school. De Mazenod College, Kandana, secured the runners-up position with 388 points. Wesley College finished third while BENS Aquatic Academy claimed fourth place. St. Joseph’s College completed the top five.
The inter-school championship featured leading young swimmers from across the country and showcased intense competition across multiple age categories.
In the Under-9 boys’ category, S. Khail Shenal De Abrew of De Mazenod College was adjudged Best Swimmer, while Dion Ronal of De Mazenod College won the Under-11 boys’ title.
Menuk Nethmitha of Wesley College secured the Under-13 boys award and Yaatheesh Krishantha of Wesley College claimed the Under-15 boys’ title.
K. Osanda Enosh Perera of St. Benedict’s College won the Under-17 boys’ award while Yousuf Latheef of Wesley College was the Under-19 boys’ Best Swimmer.
In the relay events, St. Benedict’s College emerged as overall relay champions with De Mazenod College finishing as runners-up.
