Sri Lanka recorded their first victory at the ongoing Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Championship after defeating Bangladesh in straight sets in their third preliminary round match played yesterday.
The CAVA Women’s Championship, organised by CAVA, is being held from May 22 to 29 in Kathmandu, Nepal, with the participation of eight countries.
Sri Lanka secured a comfortable 3-0 victory over Bangladesh with set scores of 25-19, 25-9 and 25-13.
However, Sri Lanka failed to qualify for the semi-final round after losing two of their three preliminary round matches.
In their opening match, Sri Lanka suffered a 3-0 defeat against Kazakhstan with scores of 25-9, 25-18 and 25-16. They also went down 0-3 to Iran in their second encounter with set scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-11.
