Sri Lanka girls record two wins to enter quarters

Sri Lanka girls recorded back to back wins in the ongoing Billy Jean King Junior’s - Asia/Oceanic Pre-qualifying tennis tournament at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo.

Annaya Norbert and Akesha Silva was in top form as the pair won their singles events against Gaum and Mongolia by two sets to nil.

Annaya then partnered by Buvindu Jithsara and Akesha combined to make it 3-0 by winning the doubles events against Gaum and Mongolia.

The tournament is being contested by 12 countries Singapore, Pakistan, Macau, Maldives, Oman, Brunei, Mongolia, Guam, Pacific Oceania, Myanmar, Bhutan and host Sri Lanka.

The six day tournament is scheduled to end on March 21.
