Nominations for the National Olympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NOCSL) election for the 2025–2029 term will close on April 11 at 4.00 pm at the NOCSL Auditorium.

The Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election are scheduled to be held on April 25 at 4.00 pm.

A three-member election committee has been appointed to oversee the process, headed by retired Supreme Court Judge KT Chithrasiri, with President’s Counsel Harsha Amarasekara and Attorney-at-Law Piyasena Ranasinghe serving as members.

Objections to nominations can be submitted until April 17, with the outcomes of inquiries set to be announced on April 19.

The race for the NOCSL presidency is shaping up to be a four-cornered contest. Current Vice President Shirantha Peiris (Rifle Shooting) has already officially announced his candidacy.

In addition, fellow vice presidents Deva Henry (ski & snowboard) and Asanka Seneviratne (Baseball) are also expected to contest.

Approximately 28 affiliated national associations will be eligible to vote at the election.

Although the election was originally required to be held before December 27, 2025, it was delayed due to various reasons. The decision to conduct the election by the end of April 2026 follows a written directive issued by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to the NOCSL president.
