New family tent Ostlers comes alive at Royal Thomian

By Old Boy

The annual Royal-Thomian cricket encounter is about to come alive. Formerly known as the Philips Corner, it now proudly stands as Ostlers marking an exciting new chapter in its journey. While the name may be new, the heart and spirit remain unchanged.

Now relocated to a prime position, Ostlers offers a stunning panoramic view of the playing area along with a clear sight of the scoreboard — ensuring that spectators don’t miss a single moment of the action. The new fully air-conditioned setting accommodating 100 seats combines comfort with an unbeatable vantage point, making it the perfect gathering place for all.

What truly makes Ostlers special is the people. The same familiar faces from both schools continue to gather here, preserving the cherished friendships, camaraderie and traditions built over the years.

It’s closer to 50 years since the group of almost 70 to 80 old boys from both schools witnessed the match.

It has now grown to one hundred which includes children as well.

Some call it the Family Tent. It remains a meeting point where memories are shared, rivalries are celebrated in good spirit and bonds grow stronger with every encounter.

Ostlers may have a new name and a new home, but its soul remains the same — a place of unity, celebration and timeless school spirit.
