Manitha spins Mahinda to first outright win

Right arm spinner Manitha Rajapakse’s match bag of 11 for 89 runs paved the way for Mahinda College to record a comfortable innings and 25 runs win over Lumbini MV in their Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Galle yesterday.

Manitha’s spell helped Mahinda to bowl out Lumbini twice. Having resumed their first innings from their overnight score of 76 for 4 Lumbini were bowled out for 173 and then made to follow on was bundled out for 86 runs.

Tons by Neksha Iddamalgoda and Sandeep Wijeratne and a match bag of 11 wickets by Mevindu Kumarasiri helped Sri Sumangala Panadura to pull off a stunning win by an innings and 96 runs over Isipathana in the match which ended at the Panadura Esplanade.
