Hangzhou Asian Games 2023 Sri Lanka Official Fun Run at Port City tomorrow

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and National Olympic Committee Of Srilanka (NOCSL) have made arrangements to hold the Hangzhou Asian Games 2023 Sri Lanka Official Fun Run tomorrow (February 7) at 5.00pm at Colombo International Finance City (Port City).

The 19th Asian Games will be held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8 with the theme 'Heart to Heart@ Future'.

Over 700 persons incluing 300 school athletes and 200 national level athletes representing the National Association and many invited guests are expected to participate in the Asian Games Fun Run, according to NOCSL.

The 2km Fun Run is held in Colombo Port City to underline the Sri Lanka-China finance cooperation.

Asian Games Fun Run started on February 4 in Maldives and the second one will be held on February 7 in Sri Lanka and the third one will be held on February 14 in Qatar. After that it will travel to several South Asian and South East countries and will conclude in Brunei on March 12.

The Hangzhou Asian Games will see 482 events in 40 sports, Wu Jianzhong (Deputy Director of Games Services Department, Hangzhou) said at a press conference held in Colombo today.

Wu Jianzhong added that the Chinese government and the Olympic Committee are ready to welcome the athletes as well as officials and dignitaries representing 45 countries in the Asian region, including athletes from Sri Lanka. By Susil Premalal
