Expolanka Holdings and John Keells win football finals

The Mercantile Football Association (MFA) knock-out tournament came to a conclusion on Monday with the Division One and Division Two finals played at the City League ground, Colombo 2 with Expolanka Holdings and John Keells winning the trophies.

In the Division One final Expolanka Holdings beat HNB 3-0 through goals scored by Niran Kanishka, A.R. Shazni and M A.M. Shaheel and in the Division Two final John Keells beat Sri Lankan Airlines 4-3 on penalties.In the semifinals, Expolanka beat Sampath Bank 3/1 and HNB beat CW Mackie, 2/1. Special Awards were presented to Niran Kanishka, the best player and M. Imran, the Best goal-keeper, both from Expolanka Holdings.

In the Division Two semifinals John Keells beat HSBC 4/0 and Sri Lankan Airlines beat Commercial Bank 3/1.  Special Awards were presented to Sahan George, the best player and Oshada Maduranga, the best goalkeeper, both from John Keells Group.
