Christ King College cruise into semis

Christ King College Ja-Ela cruised through to the semifinal of the Under 19 Division 2 Tier B cricket tournament with a convincing nine wicket win over St Thomas’ College Matale in the quarter final encounter at the Dambulla Stadium yesterday.

The final day’s play had St Thomas’ at their overnight second innings score of 146 for 5 and needing 29 more runs to avoid an innings defeat.

They ended with a score of 193 that left Christ King College a simple target of 20 to book a berth in the semifinal.
