Boxing elects office bearers

Dr. Anuruddha Bandara and his team have been elected to lead the Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) for the 2026–2028 term at the association’s Annual General Meeting held in Colombo.

According to the BASL, all 21 voting clubs supported the incumbent administration at the election.

The BASL said the election process was conducted in accordance with the provisions applicable to B-graded National Sports Associations under the relevant Government Gazette and under the supervision of an Election Committee appointed by the Ministry of Sports.

The Election Committee comprised Piyasena Ranasinghe – Chairman (Retired High Court Judge), Sarathchandrasiri Vithana – Member (Retired Sri Lanka Administrative Service Super Grade Officer) and Varuni Rasadari – Member (Representative of the Ministry of Sports)

The elected office bearers for the 2026–2028 term are:

President: Dr. Anuruddha Bandara

Vice Presidents: Major General Janaka Sampath Bandara, Wickramasinghe Pallekumbura and Commander Udayaweera Kumaranathunga

Secretary: Commodore Arjuna Lanka Perera

Assistant Secretary: Major General Kasun Dharshana Adikari

Assistant Treasurer: Saminda Ranasinghe

According to the Election Committee, the nomination submitted for the position of Treasurer was rejected after being deemed ineligible.
