Apna and Tuvini take mixed doubles title

Mixed doubles champion pair of Apna Perera and Tuvini de Alwis

Apna Perera and Tuvini de Alwis clinched the mixed doubles Open title with a hard fought two sets to one win over Dilvin Herath and Yuhansa Peiris in the final played at the SLTA tennis courts at Greenpath in Colombo yesterday.

It marked Apna’s second title win of the tournament having earlier bagged the men’s Open singles title. 

The champion pair was made to fight hard for their win after conceding the first set but bounced back to snatch the second and third sets.

The duo won 6/7, 7/5, 10/3.
