Air Force wrestlers dominate National wrestling

Air Force wrestlers emerged as the overall champions in both the men’s and women’s categories at the 83rd National Wrestling Championships.

The tournament, organized by the Sri Lanka Wrestling Federation, was held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo. 

A total of 170 wrestlers representing 10 teams took part in the championship. In the men’s category, the Air Force team secured 34.5 points to reclaim the national title after a gap of 25 years, marking a significant achievement.

In the women’s category, the Air Force team continued their dominance by winning the overall championship for the 13th consecutive time, accumulating 51 points.

At the same championship, CD Asanka of the Navy was adjudged the Best Male Wrestler while G.P. Manjari won the award for Best Female Wrestler.
