Yevan David

Sri Lankan-British driver Yevan David came agonisingly close to victory at Monza, missing out by just one-thousandth of a second in the penultimate round of the Euroformula Open Championship.
Starting from pole position, Yevan made a trademark lightning start and was immediately locked in an intense, lap-long battle with Polish title leader Tymek Kucharczyk. The pair swapped positions repeatedly in a thrilling display of racecraft, with Monza once again delivering high-speed drama at every corner.
Midway through the race, a collision among rivals allowed Yevan to reclaim second place. With four laps remaining, he began closing the gap on Kucharczyk, setting the fastest lap to narrow the margin to a fraction of a second. At the chequered flag, however, the timing screens showed a heartbreaking gap of just 0.001 seconds — one of the narrowest finishes in Euroformula Open history.
Kucharczyk’s victory secured him the overall championship title, while Yevan’s runner-up finish and fastest lap point strengthened his position in the standings. With one race remaining, Yevan now turns his focus toward clinching second place overall and sealing the Rookie Championship crown.
