Vidyaloka College cricket champs at School Games

Vidyaloka College Galle emerged champions of the Under-20 cricket tournament by defeating St. John’s College Jaffna in the final at the All-Island School Games.

The tournament, organized by the Ministry of Education as part of the 2025 All Island School Games with the participation of 27 teams at the Nalanda College and Royal College grounds in Colombo. 

Vidyaloka put up an all-round performance throughout the tournament and capped it off in style by restricting their opponents to just 47 runs for the loss of four wickets in reply to their own 62 for six in 10 overs in the decisive final.

Mahinda College secured third place in the championship. Vidyaloka’s star performer, Lidula Nuwantha, who excelled in all three departments of the game, was adjudged the best player of the tournament.
