Veyangoda CC record comfortable win

The victorious Veyangoda CC team  

Fine batting by V. Chinthaka and Tilina Nipuna, and splendid bowling performances by Abdul Rahuman and Sajith Madushanka, steered Veyangoda Cricket Club to a 111-run win over Ace Cricket Club, Kadawatha, in the final of the Gampaha District (50 Overs), played at the MB grounds, Godigamuwa, Katana recently. 
Veyangoda CC, taking first lease of the wicket, made 297/8, with Chinthaka stroking a marvellous 61 runs in 65 balls, including 10 fours, and Nipuna scoring a quick-fire 38 runs in 23 balls, including two fours. Ace CC’s P. Mihiranga and Chatura Sadis captured two wickets each. 
Ace CC in reply, were bowled out for 186, with only Swarnajith Samaraweera showing resilience with a hard-fought 47 runs, while other batters fell at regular intervals. Rahuman (3/32) and Madushanka (2/44) did the damage with the ball. Rahuman was adjudged as the Man of the Match whilst R.P.K. Madanayake and Asanka Gunasekera officiated the final.
