Veteran athletic technical officer Capt. Tilan Perera bids adieu

The final rites of former senior technical officer of Sri Lanka Athletics Capt. Tilan Perera, 91, took place yesterday at Kalubowila.  

He served as Assistant Director of Sports of the Department of Sports Development in the 80s and 90s decades and also as secretary of the former Amateur Athletics Association (AAA) of Sri Lanka interim committee from 1982 to 84.  

A sports teacher who joined the Department of Sports Development, Capt. Tilan Perera was a skilled administrator, serving as secretary of the organising committee when Sri Lanka hosted the SAF (South Asian) Games in 1991.
