Under 19 Cricket Janindu shines in Horana Royal’s big win

Janindu Gamage shone with an ale puns performance in Royal Colombo Horana’ big win by 182 runs against CWW Kannangara MMV Colombo in the Under 19 inter-school limited overs tournament encounter played at the Railway ground in Mount Mary.

Janindu cracked an unbeaten 101 in 104 balls that included ten boundaries and four sixes and put on two valuable partnerships of 85 runs for the fourth wicket with Yasiru Lakmina and 129 runs for the sixth wicket with Sadeesh Aroshana who hit a 26 ball knock of 71 with four boundaries and seven sixes which helped Royal taking first lease of the wicket to make a formidable score of 316 for 5. Later Janindu who bagged four scalps along with Lasindu Rasanjana and Yasiru Lakmina combined to bowl out CWW Kannangara MMV for a low score of 134 runs. 

A fine knock of 77 with nine boundaries and three sixes by Sethila Sewhas helped President’s College Kotte coast to an easy six wicket win over Jaffna Central in another match played at Kotte while Royal Central Polonnaruwa and St Mary’s recorded wins against Skandavarodaya College Jaffna and Galahitiyawa Central in the matches played at Chunnakam and Ganemulla.
