Kenula Pihilianga and Chanul Kodituwakku, two top-class junior cricketers from Kingswood College, will represent the national Under-17 team on their tour to Bangladesh later this month.
Kenula, a left-arm Orthodox spinner, led the Kingswood U-15 and U-17 and Prima Super Provincial Kandy outfits. He also represented the Super Provincial U-17 and U-19 outfits. He has taken more than 175 wickets in the last three seasons, with a match bag of 13/96 against Lumbini being his best. He has also taken 12 five-wicket hauls and two ten-wicket hauls. Kenula also represented Sri Lanka U-17 against the touring Bangladesh outfit last year. He is playing for the Kingswood outfit in his 4th year.
Chanul, who is a 3rd-year player for Kingswood, captained Kingswood U-15 and Kandy Super Provincial Team. Last year he scored over 600 runs, including a century against Trinity College. He was awarded as the Best Bowler and the Best All-rounder at the U-17 Youth League Tournament in 2025, which took place in Galle.
