Thishya, Zacharia emerge U12 champions

Thishya Banagala and Zacharia Akbar emerged girls and boys Under 12 Singles champions of the SSC Open Tennis Championship when they came out victorious in the two final matches played at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo.

Thishya defeated Thiyansa de Silva with ease by two sets to nil while Zacharia underwent some anxious moments before pulling off a hard fought two sets to one win over Kashya Seneviratne.

Girls Under 12 – Thishya Banagala beat Thiyansa de Silva 2-0 (7/5, 6/2, 6/2)
Boys Under 12 – Zacharia Akbar beat Kashya Seneviratne 2-1 (6/2, 2/6, 6/4)
