Testing time for Havies

Unbeaten Havelock Sports Club will lock horns with unbeaten Air Force Sports Club when the two sides meet today at Havelock Park, in what promises to be one of the most compelling fixtures of the league phase so far.
With both teams carrying strong momentum, the encounter is expected to play a key role in shaping the race towards the Super Round. All games will be kicked off at 3 pm.
Havelocks began their campaign with a stern test against Navy Sports Club, settling for a hard-fought draw in their opening outing. However, the Park Club outfit responded in emphatic fashion in their second match, producing a confident performance to overcome Sri Lions. That victory not only restored belief but also underlined the side’s ability to adapt and grow as the season progresses. 
Led by former Peterite Sandesh Jayawickrema and his deputy Janidu Fernando along with Abdullah Faiz and Azmir Fajudeen have the potential to dominate proceedings at the Park.
Coached by the cool Saliya Kumara, Havies will need to be at their best to beat the high riding Air Force outfit. 
Air Force SC, meanwhile, have arguably been the team of the competition so far. They have strung together impressive victories over Army Sports Club, Police Sports Club and Navy Sports Club, displaying discipline, structure and consistency. Their sights are firmly set on a top-four finish, which would secure a place in the coveted Cup segment of the Super Round. 
The Ratmalana outfit is led by Shanaka Werella and well supported by Shamika Kaushan and Gayantha Iddamalgoda.
On current form, Air Force appear the stronger unit, boasting momentum and confidence. However, playing away at the intimidating Havelock Park presents a different challenge altogether. With both sides unbeaten and evenly matched in ambition, fans can expect a fiercely contested battle where home advantage, discipline and execution could prove the deciding factor.
