Tebuwana wins RCGC Captains Cup

The Captain’s Cup 2025 concluded with an exciting display of competitive golf, bringing together some of the finest golfers to battle for top honours over two days of play. The tournament produced impressive performances across several divisions, highlighting both consistency and skill on the course.
The Overall Nett Winner title was claimed by Janaka Tebuwana, who carded 70 and 69 for a combined 139 Nett score playing some outstanding golf on both days. Close behind was H.A.S. Madanayake, who finished as the Overall Nett runner-up with 73 and 67, totalling 140 Nett after a strong second-round performance.
The Overall Gross winner was Kumar Danushan with 74 and 73, with a gross total of 147.
In the Masters Division, Anura Fernando secured the Winner’s title with an impressive 67 Nett, while Bandula Weerasinghe finished runner-up with 70 Nett. Seniors Division saw a closely contested finish as Suresh Amarasekera claimed victory with 70 Nett on a back-nine countback, edging out Arjun Gooneratne, who also returned 70 Nett.
In the Ladies Division, Usha De Silva captured the title with 72 Nett, while Keya Abhayaratne finished runner-up with 73 Nett. In the Ladies Seniors Division, Myungock Jane Hong recorded 73 Nett to win, with Kalyani Ranasinghe finishing runner-up on 75 Nett.
Gayan Galapitage, who won the 1st Day Best Nett (69), and H.A.S. Madanayake, who claimed the 2nd Day Best Nett (67), capped off a memorable Captain’s Cup tournament.
