St. Peter’s fight back to record outright win

St. Peter’s skipper Vishen Helambage helped his side to fight back to record an outright win by 60 runs after having conceded a first innings lead to Isipathana in the Under 19 inter-school Division One Tier ‘B’ semi final encounter concluded at the Navy grounds, Welisara yesterday.  
The second day’s play saw Isipathana resuming from their overnight score of 134 for 6 losing their remaining four wickets for the addition of ten runs being bowled out for 144 runs with Shennon Rodrigo who ended with a six wicket haul doing the damage.  
St. Peter’s batting the second time saw Helambage cracking 76 in only 50 balls inclusive of six boundaries and four sixes to help them to make a score of 195 for 9 declared.  
Isipathana set a target of 180 runs for victory lost their top five wickets with the score on 59 and was made to struggle for their runs. They succumbed to right and left spin duo Lashmika Perera and Dilana Damsara and was bundled out for 119 runs which paved the way for the Peterites to book the berth to the final where they will meet Lumbini MV scheduled to be played next week.
