The National Paralympic Committee of Sri Lanka (NPCSL) has decided to field a five-member Elite Para team to participate in the 12th World Para Athletics Championship to be held from September 27 to October 5 in New Delhi, India.
Approximately 2,200 top para-athletes from around the world are expected to compete in 184 events.
Representing Sri Lanka will be four male athletes and one female accompanied by two coaches and a team manager.
The Sri Lankan team is set to depart for India on Thursday comprising Nuwan Indika (T44 100m, 200m, long jump), Pradeep Somasiri (T46 1500m), Palith Bandara (F42, F63 shot put), DB Heshan (T46 100m, long jump), and WA Janani (T46 100m, long jump). The coaches are YK Kularathne and Sajith Jayalal along with manager D. Aludeniya.
