Sri Lanka schoolgirls rout Malaysia in lop-sided series

Sri Lanka Under-19 ended another successful five match T20 series with a convincing eight wicket win over the visiting Malaysia women’s team in the fifth encounter played at the Colts ground yesterday.

The heroine of the host sides win was Sanjana Kavindi who made a top score of 45 with five boundaries and shared a valuable 72 ball partnership of 73 for the second wicket with skipper Manudi Nanayakkara who made an unbeaten 24.

The host side chasing 83 runs for victory raced to the target in the 14th over.

Earlier in the day Malaysia women taking first lease of the wicket helped by a top knock of 34 from Mahirah Izzati made a score of 82 for 4 in their allotted 20 overs.
