Sri Lanka pick teams for Under-18 volleyball

The Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVB) has announced the selection of two national teams to participate in the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Under-18 boys and girls tournaments, scheduled for June and July 2026.

The first selection trials for both boys and girls have been completed with a second trial on February 26 to finalise the national squads of 24 players. 

Training for these squads will begin on March 1 under the Federation’s guidelines.

In preparation, SLVB has also appointed six coaches and trainers for the tournaments. The Under-18 boys’ team staff has R.A.C.K. Jayarathna (head coach), Indika Fernando (assistant coach) and J.A.D.N.R. Jayakodi (trainer). 

The Under-18 girls’ team staff has L.H.D. Madushanka (head coach), W.P.R. Boteju (assistant coach) and S.N.M.J. Samarasinghe (trainer).

The CAVA Under-18 boys’ tournament will be held in Iran while the hosting country for the girls’ tournament is yet to be confirmed.
