Sri Lanka contests Carom World Cup in Maldives

Sri Lanka is participating at the seventh Carom World Cup 2025 with a 16-member squad organised by the Carom Federation of Sri Lanka. The tournament, hosted by the International Carom Federation and the Carom Association of Maldives, began yesterday in Malé, Maldives, and will continue until December 6.

The championship features nearly 200 players from 16 countries, including Sri Lanka, Maldives, Bangladesh, UAE, Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Germany, the UK, New Zealand, France, Serbia, Italy and Qatar. 

Competitions are being held in men’s and women’s singles, doubles and team events following a Swiss league format across four rounds.

The Sri Lankan contingent is made up of Shaheed Hilmy Joseph Rosita, Anas Ahmad, Kevin Nimneth, Nishantha Fernando, Suraj Maduwanta, Charith Madusanka, Udesh Perera, Gihan Chamara, Nipuni Dilrukshi, Tasmila Kavindi, Tarushi Himahansika, Shaini Imaya, Hirushi Malshani, Savindi de Silva and Manuraji Nisansala.

The Department of Sports Development has provided the team with air tickets and accommodation for the tournament.
