Sri Lanka and India to co-host first T20 Blind Cricket World Cup

Sri Lanka and India will jointly host the first-ever Women’s T20 Blind Cricket World Cup from November 11 to 23, 2025, following a formal schedule announced recently.

Seven national teams, representing Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Australia, England, Nepal and the USA are set to participate in this historic tournament. The opening ceremony will take place in India on November 11, followed by five matches in New Delhi until November 13 and four matches in Bangalore from November 14 to 16. Simultaneously, fifteen matches will be held in Sri Lanka from November 14 to 23. The tournament comprises 24 matches, including 21 league matches in the preliminary round, two pre-final matches, and the final. 

A media briefing and the launch of the official website of the Sri Lanka Cricket Association for the Visually Handicapped were conducted in Colombo with the participation of Sports Minister Sunil Gamage and officials from India’s Cricket Association for the Blind (CABI).

CABI Chairman Dr. Mahantesh Kivadasannavar described the event as “a historic moment in women’s blind cricket,” while minister Gamage praised blind cricket as “a shining example of determination, resilience and extraordinary talent.”
