In-form batter Vimoksha Balasooriya and right arm spinner Aseni Thalagune combined on yet another occasion to steer the Sri Lanka U-19 girls to record another convincing win by nine wickets in the fourth match of the five match T20 series at the NCC ground in Colombo yesterday.

Vimoksha continued her batting prowess following her knock of 62 as she hit a quick-fire 50 ball unbeaten knock of 53 that included seven boundaries and shared in two valuable partnerships, first an opening wicket stand of 30 runs with Sanjana Kavindi and an unbroken 59 runs in 58 balls with skipper Manudi Nanayakkara.

Sri Lanka reached the target of 86 runs for victory with ease in the 14th over.

Earlier Malaysia invited to take first lease of the wicket found right arm spinner Aseni Thalagune too hot to handle.

Aseni who ended with a five wicket haul in the previous match continued to torment the visitors again as she bagged four scalps and was supported by Shashini Gimhani who ended with two wickets as the pair combined to restrict the visitors for a score of 85 for 9.

The two teams will play their fifth and last match on November 10 at the Colts ground.

Malaysia U-19 women 85 for 9 in 20 overs (Nur Dania Syuhada 22: Aseni Thalagune 4/14, Shashini Gimhani 2/19)
