Shiran and Sahan put Kandy on top

Kandy’s bowling trio of Shiran Fernando, Sahan Nanayakkara and Chamindu Wickramasinghe shared nine wickets between them to put their side on top against Colombo on day two of the Four-Day National Super League Cricket Tournament encounter played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium in Hambantota yesterday.

The trio sent the Colombo batting reeling for a low score of 106 with Shiran bagging four scalps, Sahan three and Chamindu two wickets.

Earlier, Kandy resuming from their overnight score of 382 for five ended their innings making a formidable 460. 

Meanwhile, Galle has secured a close first innings lead against Dambulla when play ended on day two in their match played at Galle yesterday. 

Dambulla, taking the field on day two, fell into deep trouble as they lost their top four wickets with just 57 runs on board.

Dhananjaya Lakshan made a top score of 106 and helped them to end with a respectable score of 260 runs.
